Lufthansa Technik announced it has begun offering the new cabin surveillance camera system "aerosight." The solution can simultaneously handle up to 16 cameras in an aircraft, allowing pilots to monitor access to the cockpit and also to monitor the cabin and cargo compartment with a camera system that automatically switches between a day view mode and an infrared night view mode. Lufthansa Technik developed "aerosight" for an undisclosed launch customer for installation in January 2011 and will begin offering it to other customers in the first quarter of 2011.
